Diving the Wreck of the Hera.

The Hera is a shallow wreck, it lies in a maximum of 18m on a sandy seabed between Gull Rock and Nare Head. I have dived it several times alreday this year, and have enjoyed every visit. My last visit was Friday 27th July, it was mid tide so there was a bit of water movement. The visibility wasn’t as good as previous visits but it was still very enjoyable, there is always plenty of anemones of various types to photograph for when the vis is bad. Almost two years into the Great War, the battlefields of France and Belgium were literally running red with blood. Hundreds of thousands of young men were dying, an entire generation consigned to the mud and mayhem of trench warfare along the Western Front. The conflagration was so evenly matched that victories were measured in mere yards. Continue reading this entry »

HMS Scylla Vs. USS Oriskany

When they first sank the Scylla as an artificial reef I couldn’t wait to dive it. I did wait a few months to avoid the crowds before venturing across the border into England, to catch a boat back to Cornwall! Continue reading this entry »

Fuji F30, why don’t they make it underwater housing compatible?

Fuji have brought out a new camera, the F30. It’s still a 6.3mp camera, it has many of the same features as the F10/F11 plus a couple of improvements. Continue reading this entry »
